Open Gardens Day – Packington.

Our traditional and very popular Open Gardens’ Day is being held again this year on Bank Holiday Monday, 31st August 2026, from 1.00pm to 6.00pm.
The church bells will be ringing at the beginning of this afternoon joyfully welcoming everyone to what we believe will be a delightful afternoon.
Ten gardens will be open, in addition to the Church and the Memorial Hall on High Street, where delicious cream teas and cakes will be served. There will be stalls selling books, and plants, an “I Spy” trail for children, ice-cream for sale, a History Group display and a display of much loved children’s books from the past in the Church, and in the Memorial Hall, an exhibition of their work by the Heather based Art Group, “Country Colours” – and, not to be missed, in one of the gardens at 3.00pm members of the excellent Packington Community Choir will be singing some of their repertoire. What’s not to like?!
Parking is available in the Village Recreation Ground Car Park (LE65 1WP) on Measham Road, where you can also purchase a Passport to the gardens ( £5 for adults, children free). Passports can also be obtained at the Church, the Hall and participating gardens.
We are very grateful to David Granger Architectural Design Ltd of Ashby-de-la Zouch who are sponsoring our event.
The event will be followed by the famed village duck race which takes place on Mill Street with tickets on sale from 5.00pm and the races beginning from 6.00pm.
